Dorothy, edited
Hello, hello!
How are you getting on?
You might have noticed a new thingy at the top of this page? Well, it’s because I’ve decided to relaunch my newsletter and podcast and book club under the name of The Dorothy Edit. (Respect if you didn’t notice!😀)
The main reason for this is that I’m trying to connect with people more regularly, and the best way to do that is to do it in smaller bites. Basically, edit myself. So . . . Ta-dah! Dorothy, edited.
Let me get on with it . . .
First of all, a HUGE thank you to all who came to this month’s book club meeting for Give Him To Me. It was so fabulous! I hope all of you who could make it enjoyed the discussion – I certainly went away with a whole new perspective on my own book! And I was completely blindsided by the things people said about Kez. I appreciate you all for what you had to say and ask.
So, that’s why we decided to do it all again next month. Next The Dorothy Edit Book Club meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 1 April and we’ll be talking about Every Smile You Fake. I know most of you will have read it by now but might need a refresher read, so indicate to me in the comments below if you want to have the meeting on Tuesday 1 April or Tuesday 8 April.
As I said, have been experimenting with short-form everything so I’ve relaunched my podcast to be 10-15 minutes long. That allows you to get your dose of Dorothy without either of us having to commit hours of time to it. I’m not sure how it’ll work out, but I’m giving it a try.
You can listen in here: Listen to The Dorothy Edit or you can listen to it here on The Dorothy Edit Substack.
Don’t forget to let me know which book club meeting you’d prefer below.
That’s it, lovelies. Short and sweet, you see? Edited.
Talk to you soon, lovely one.

The Big Reveal Book Club Choice:
Every Smile You Fake by me : )
The blurb says: Please take care of my baby. But don’t try to find me. You’ll put him in danger. x
Profiler and therapist Kez Lanyon is shocked when she finds a baby on the backseat of her car, with an unsigned note asking her to take care of him.
Kez has a pretty good idea who the mother is – Brandee, a popular social media star with a troubled background, who once lived in Kez’s house.
Recently, the seemingly bright and bubbly Brandee’s videos changed in tone before she completely dropped out of the limelight. Kez is beginning to understand why.
And if the internet rumours are true, Brandee’s life could be in real danger.
Kez is torn.
Should she simply take care of the baby, as she’s been asked to do, and wait to hear from his mother?
Or should she put the baby and her whole family at risk by using – less than legal – contacts from her previous job to save this young woman?
Time is running out for Brandee. Can Kez find her before it’s too late?
